Teaching English

I've been teaching English to the older China Care kids (ages 11-14) for two weeks now, and it is sooo difficult. Its still proving to be a challenge because I'm not quite sure what they have learned in the past - their education has been thrown about between lots of teachers coming and going, so its hard to get a grasp on what they have and haven't done. The past few times I have had them fill out worksheets, answering questions in English. And their spoken English is really great, so for the most part they understand what I am telling them.
They are still in school during the summer because China Care is hoping to send them to an ordinary school (not home school) in the fall, and they are trying to catch them up (as I said: they've had a lot of different teachers, so they've fallen behind). I was told to work on grammar with them - so I am trying to get a plan of attack on that one. The other interns and I are also working on teaching art, computer, music, etc at varying times. Obviously I won't be helping with the music ;), but art I can do! I am teaching English 4 days a week and then helping out at different times. But teaching English is by far, really hard.
Also I am going to be working on writing some articles for the China Care newsletter back in the States so I will post those up as I finish them so everyone can read them! I am almost done with my first one about one of the preschoolers I teach who is absolutely the cutest little boy ever. Maybe I'll bring him home with me ;)
